Holistic therapy & NeuroFeedback
Holistic therapy helps clients heal by taking the entire human being and their life experiences into consideration for assessment and treatment purposes. In other words, where traditional counseling methods consider the psychological ramifications of issues and behaviors; holistic counseling assesses and treats not just psychological, but also the physical and spiritual components of your well-being.
Holistic therapists examine a client’s symptoms and issues in order to evaluate how the physical body is involved and affected. The goal is to facilitate a sense of physical well-being. Many therapists offer their clients assistance with dietary issues, weight management, vitamin and mineral supplementation, exercise and the development of proactive health measures.
The holistic therapist also acknowledges that the human spirit is intricately involved in the healing of the total person—mind, body and soul.
Neurofeedback is direct training of brain function, by which the brain learns to function more efficiently. The technique is also referred to as EEG Biofeedback, because it is based on electrical brain activity registered on an electroencephalogram, or EEG. Neurofeedback is training in self-regulation. It is simply biofeedback applied to the brain directly. Self-regulation is a necessary part of good brain function. Self-regulation training allows the system (the central nervous system) to function better.
Neurofeedback addresses problems of brain disregulation which includes the anxiety-depression spectrum, attention deficits, behavior disorders, impulse control, mood regulation, various sleep disorders, headaches and migraines, PMS, PTSD and emotional disturbances. It is also useful for organic brain conditions such as seizures, the autism spectrum, and cerebral palsy.
Neurofeeback can also be used for peak performance for business professionals, athletes, artists, or for personal development by way of improved concentration, increased emotional intelligence, and better leadership and time management skills. It can also be used as a mental guide to reach mindful, meditative or other spiritual states via Alpha-Theta training.
