An Evidence-Based Training to Integrate Mind and Body in Clinical Practice
Reconnect science, compassion, and healing.
Program OverviewÂ
This program explores the multidimensional relationship between early life stress and adult health from an integrative, mind–body perspective. Drawing on foundational and contemporary research—including the original ACE Study (Felitti et al., 1998) and subsequent physiological, psychological, and epigenetic investigations—the curriculum illustrates how experiences of childhood trauma, neglect, and household dysfunction become biologically embedded and manifest as chronic illness in adulthood.
Through engaging, experiential learning, participants will gain clarity on how stress, trauma, and daily lifestyle choices influence physiology, mood, inflammation, immunity, and chronic disease risk — and how to communicate this understanding to clients and patients in motivating, shame-free ways.
This interactive training helps all providers— medical, mental health, and allied professionals — integrate physical, emotional, and neurobiological understanding into their work to bridge the traditional “mind–body” divide.
We are not separate systems. Our thoughts, emotions, physiology, and environment continuously shape one another. Understanding this interconnectedness allows us to support true healing rather than just symptom management.

Who It’s For
Therapists, physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals who want to confidently address both the physical and emotional dimensions of health. Â
Because clients often present with both mental and physical concerns while providers benefit from understanding the body’s physiology and how it interacts with mood, behavior, and healing.

You’ll Learn To
- Understand the mind–body connection through the lens of stress physiology, inflammation, and neurotransmitters.
- Reframe chronic illness and pain as adaptive responses to trauma and stress.
- Integrate current science on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and epigenetics into everyday care.
- Teach clients how their daily choices influence biology, increasing insight and compliance without shame.
- Explain how the nervous system, gut, and inflammatory pathways link physical and emotional health.
- Recognize how neurotransmitters, vagal tone, and cortisol regulation shape behavior and well-being.
- Enhance client  insight, compliance, and self-compassion.
- Practice embodiment using mirror-neuron theory and practitioner self-regulation to influence client outcomes.
Reconnect evidence-based science with heart-based practice.
Course FocusÂ
Each class offers a clear, practical understanding of underlying physiology—paired with tools for direct application in session.
You’ll learn how to identify and explain the biological patterns behind anxiety, fatigue, and chronic illness, and how to guide clients in lifestyle, regulation, and self-care practices that support real, sustainable change.
Providers will also learn in-office exercises and somatic tools to help clients regulate in real time, integrating science and practice for the most effective outcomes.
4 Modules
- Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs): how early trauma contributes to chronic physical and mental-emotional illness
- The HPA Axis and Stress: understanding cortisol, neurobiology, resilience, and dysregulation
- Inflammation and the Body’s Stress Response: Inflammation’s impact on immune function, blood sugar, reproductive hormones, brain chemistry and more
- The Gut–Brain Connection and Microbiome Health: Neurotransmitter production and optimal function and the interplay between the microbiome and neurotransmitters
